Alexander Ludwig and his wife, Lauren Ludwig, are expecting a baby after suffering three miscarriages.
“It’s been a long road, and we wanted to wait until things were looking promising this time around,” the “Hunger Games” actor, 30, captioned a picture on Instagram Friday of him standing behind his wife as she showed off her growing baby bump.
“Thank you guys for all of the support. We couldn’t be more grateful. ❤️ and if you were wondering…yam [the couple’s dog] is stoked.”
Alexander then revealed that their rainbow baby is due in May.
Lauren, 31, reposted the same image and shared some encouraging words to those who may also be dealing with pregnancy losses.
“As a lot of you know it’s been a long road for @alexanderludwig and myself,” she wrote on Instagram. “We suffered 3 losses before this one but each one of those losses taught us about ourselves and each other.”
Lauren concluded, “To everyone out there who has suffered miscarriages before, there is light on the other side of your journey. You are not alone.”
The couple was met with lots of love and support from their close friends in the comments section of their posts.
“Yeeeees. So happy for you beautiful people. ❤️❤️ All the best ❤️,” wrote Alexander’s “Vikings” co-star Alex Høgh Andersen.

“Yay yay yay!!! So happy for you both 😍,” commented “Twilight” star Ashley Greene.

In May 2022, Lauren revealed that she and her husband suffered a third miscarriage in an effort to remind fans they were “not alone.”
“I have gone back and forth on whether or not to post anything about this but decided we all need to start talking about the truth more,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I decided I wanted to share because I don’t think it’s a shameful thing to talk about. I want to help others realize how common miscarriages are.”
She concluded, “This will forever be a part of our story. My hope by sharing this, if for no other reason, is for that one person reading this to know they are not alone.”
Alexander and Lauren announced in January 2021 that they had eloped in Utah less than a year after going Instagram official. Their rainbow baby will be the couple’s first child.
