Amy Robach joked about “Good Morning America” drama in a “GMA” interview with Reese Witherspoon – just one month before news broke of her and T.J. Holmes’ alleged affair.
Resurfaced footage from October shows Witherspoon asking Robach, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan whether they like her and Jennifer Aniston’s “Morning Show,” to which the journalists all agreed.
“Of course we do. [We’re] addicted,” Stephanopoulos, 61, said at the time, while Robach, 49, confirmed, “We love it.”
Strahan, 51, chimed in, “You have no idea, the water cooler conversations around here.”
Robach then noted that she could give the actress “a few more plotlines” for her Apple TV+ series, which pulls back the curtain on morning talk shows.
“Yes, email me, girl,” Witherspoon, 46, gushed at the time. “Email me.”
The following month, Robach and Holmes, 45, made headlines for allegedly having a months-long affair while married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, respectively.
Shue, 55, is allegedly close to finalizing his divorce from his wife of 12 years. Fiebig, for her part, was “blindsided” by the alleged romance, Page Six reported Friday.
While the “GMA3” co-hosts appeared on the show last week amid news of their alleged affair, joking sarcastically about the “great week” they were having, the ABC personalities were temporarily replaced on Monday by Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez.
The network considered Robach and Holmes to be a “distraction,” ABC News president Kim Godwin reportedly told staffers during an internal call Monday.
“After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and T.J. off the air as we figure this out,” Godwin allegedly explained, noting that the duo were “not a violation of company policy.”
That same day, multiple sources alleged to Page Six that Holmes cheated with several other women at ABC.
The Daytime Emmy nominee and Robach’s reps have yet to respond to Page Six’s numerous requests for comment.
