No mascara, no problem.
If you’ve ever wondered how celebrities like Megan Fox and Vanessa Hudgens go from showing off full, fluttery, clump-free eyelashes on a red carpet one day to posting makeup-free selfies with their lashes still magically intact the next, Lashify‘s at-home extensions are likely to thank.
The brand was founded in 2018 by Sahara Lotti, who worked as a screenwriter before pivoting to the beauty business, and the magic is in its patented “Underlash Technology” — unlike traditional strips, they’re meant to be attached underneath the lash line rather than on top.
Plus, while lash extensions typically require hours-long appointments with a pro to install, Lashify’s individual clusters (called “Gossamers”) are made for applying at home.
“I assumed there had to be a way to easily DIY [lash extensions] but there was nothing — literally nothing,” Lotti tells Page Six Style of the inspiration behind her creation, adding that she always loved the look of extensions but struggled with strips.
It would seem she’s not alone; since Lashify’s launch, the lash system’s become a hit on TikTok — not to mention a go-to for celebrity makeup artists like Rachel Goodwin, who admits she was “a bit intimidated” to try the DIY extensions at first.
“We’re creatures of comfort as makeup artists,” Goodwin tells us. “It can be daunting to try a new approach to something you’ve been doing for decades.”
But like many users, she caught on quickly; in the past year and a half, she’s used Lashify on clients like Emma Stone, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mariska Hargitay and Selma Blair for major events. She says they’ve been a particular game changer for Blair, as the “Cruel Intentions” star has experienced “some loss of lashes” from her MS treatment.
Goodwin’s fellow glam guru Jenna Kristina is a fan as well, having applied the lashes on clients Megan Fox and Haley Lu Richardson; incidentally, the latter’s “White Lotus” co-stars Meghann Fahy and Jennifer Coolidge have both rocked Lashify this awards season as well.
And Lotti tells us the entire cast of “Sex and the City” uses Lashify — perhaps thanks to a rave review from Cynthia Nixon, who relied on the lashes during her run for New York Governor.
Lashify Control Kit ($125)
Eager to try the system for yourself? The Lashify Control Kit comes with everything you’ll need to get started: a pre-cleanse sample (to prep your natural lashes), a bonding formula (which you brush on like mascara), the Fuse Control Wand (curved tweezers for lash application), two cartridges of lashes (choose from the natural-looking Amplify, the voluminous Bold or the fluttery Curl, all of which come in 12mm and 14mm lengths), a finishing coat (to seal your look) and a lash remover liquid sample.
As for when you’ll need to use that remover? The lashes can be applied and removed daily, or worn for up to two weeks with the right application method and care — so don’t be surprised if you spy stars sporting preternaturally lush lashes for days after Sunday’s Oscars.
