Cue up “The Best of Both Worlds.”
Miley Cyrus announced Friday that she is reteaming with Disney for a new concert special.
The former “Hannah Montana” star, 30, will perform her No. 1 single “Flowers” plus seven other songs from her upcoming album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” for the latest installment of her “Backyard Sessions.”
Additionally, the setlist will include one of Cyrus’ chart-topping classics as well as a collaboration with Rufus Wainwright, according to a press release obtained by Page Six.
The special, which is interspersed with new interview footage, premieres March 10 at 1 p.m. ET on Disney+, the same day the 12-track LP drops.
Cyrus launched “Backyard Sessions” in 2012 when she posted videos online of herself singing acoustic renditions of tracks like her godmother Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”
The intimate digital series continued in 2015 with covers of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and The Turtles’ “Happy Together,” while the 2020 edition featured Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” and Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe,” among others.
Cyrus’ latest collaboration with Disney comes nearly two decades after she became a household name thanks to her portrayal of Hannah Montana, a fictional pop star who led a double life as an average teenage girl named Miley Stewart.
The Emmy-nominated teen sitcom aired on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011 and spawned hit soundtrack albums, concert tours and a feature film before Cyrus went off on her own, releasing smash singles like “Party in the USA,” “Wrecking Ball” and “Midnight Sky.”
Cyrus penned an open letter to her beloved character in honor of the show’s 15th anniversary in March 2021.
“Although you were considered to be an ‘alter ego’ in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands,” she wrote on social media at the time. “We had an equal exchange in which you provided a superlative amount of fame in return for the anonymity I could gift to you.
“But a lot has changed since then,” the Grammy nominee continued. “You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon + never brought me back down. … You + I have been through it all together my friend.”
And now, Cyrus is going back to where it all began.
