While awaiting baby No. 2, Rihanna is looking back on her “insane” first few days of motherhood.
The Grammy winner referred to life with her baby boy as a “headf–k” in a candid British Vogue interview published Wednesday.
“You don’t sleep. At all,” the pregnant singer, 34, recalled. “Not even if you wanted to.
“Man, you’re a zombie for the most part,” she explained. “You’re just going through the motions, and even then you’re so paranoid.”
The songwriter, who has yet to reveal her and A$AP Rocky’s 9-month-old son’s name, said they had “no one” to help after she gave birth in May 2022.
“It was just us as parents and our baby,” Rihanna said of the “cold turkey” experience. “You’re like, ‘They trusted us to come home with this baby? This new life? With us? No doctors, no nurses, we’re just … going home?’”
Despite her initial trepidation, the “We Found Love” hitmaker considers parenting to be a “legendary” role.
“It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” she gushed. “It doesn’t matter.”
While Rihanna did not know she was pregnant when portions of the interview were conducted, she debuted her baby bump during her Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.
The Fenty Beauty creator told the magazine at the time that she was “open” to conceiving more kids, poking fun at previous comments that she would have three or four.
“Oh, s–t,” Rihanna said, laughing. “You really gotta be careful with your mouth.”
The lingerie designer clarified, “Listen, I’m down for whatever. My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. Girl, boy, whatever.”
For now, she is enjoying being “of service” to her and the 34-year-old rapper’s young son.
