The Bad Gal’s back — and has a baby on the way.
Rihanna made her triumphant return to the stage to headline Sunday’s Super Bowl 2023 halftime show, performing a medley of her greatest hits including “Bitch Better Have My Money,” “Diamonds” and “Work” as the Philadelphia Eagles played the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
The 34-year-old superstar kicked off her performance with a Beyoncé-style belly rub (and a pronounced bump), revealing she’s pregnant with her second child with partner A$AP Rocky.
A representative for Rihanna confirmed her pregnancy to the Hollywood Reporter.
For her major moment, the 34-year-old superstar rocked a head-to-toe red layered look comprised of a Loewe jumpsuit and glossy bustier accessorized with Messika jewelry, a diamond-studded Jacob & Co. watch ($72,000) and MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low Sneakers ($360).
The “We Found Love” songstress also showed off two custom Alaïa coats, starting the show with a red leather puffer scarf and ending it in a floor-sweeping red leather puffer coat; both included integrated gloves for added drama.
She paired her scarlet stage look with a matching red lip — courtesy of Fenty Beauty Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick ($29) in The MVP — and a sleek ponytail with face-framing tendrils, even applying her brand’s Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder ($34) mid-performance to touch up her glam.
Rihanna’s makeup artist, Priscilla Ono, teased her “iconic” big-game beauty look in an interview with Page Six Style ahead of the Super Bowl, telling us, “I want a makeup look that you can look back at, at any point in time, and be like, ‘That look? I want that on me now.’”
The pop phenom has pivoted away from music in recent years to focus on her billion-dollar fashion and beauty businesses, which include her Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin lines along with her Savage X Fenty lingerie label; all released Game Day-themed collections pegged to her performance.

Rihanna also welcomed her first child with Rocky, a baby boy, in May 2022. While pregnant, she made countless headlines in a series of daring styles that ranged from a sheer Dior lingerie look to a bump-baring Coperni set.
While the “Diamonds” singer hasn’t released an album or toured since 2016 and famously turned down the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019 in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement, it’s safe to say this performance was worth the wait.
