He’s saying yes to the tux.
“Say Yes to the Dress” star Randy Fenoli announced his engagement to boyfriend Mete Kobal after almost one year of dating.
“I’m so in love. Every day I’m giddy. And every day just gets more amazing. It really does. It’s easy,” Fenoli told People, who broke the news on Sunday. “It’s nothing what I thought a relationship was and nothing like I’ve ever had in the past. It’s unbelievable.”
The TLC personality, 58, popped the question on Saturday at the Marmara Park Avenue hotel in New York City while surrounded by 50 of their closest friends and family.
“YES! It’s Official! We’re Engaged!! @metekobal We’re so in love!” Fenoli later captioned a snap on social media.
According to event planner Marcy Blum — who helped the fashion designer with his elaborate proposal — Fenoli wanted “over-the-top” and “lush” décor. Photos show Fenoli got down on one knee surrounded by pink roses of all different shades and candles. The soon-to-be grooms matched in tuxes with blue velvet jackets.
“He really wanted to surprise Mete with a beautiful moment for him to remember always,” Blum said. “Randy and I have been friends forever and I’m so delighted to be creating his perfect proposal for him.”
According to People, Fenoli told Kobal they were heading to dinner at the Museum of Modern Art, but instead went to the hotel for the proposal and engagement party.
“I just wanted to make it really special for him and make a memory that we would have the rest of our lives,” Fenoli said.
The pair met at the Marmara in January, where Kobal was working as the restaurant and bar manager at the time.
Fenoli — who has been a mainstay on the hit wedding series for over 15 years — admitted he wasn’t sure marriage was in the cards for him.
“I’m the king of bridal. I’ve been doing this bridal for 30 years, and I honestly just never thought it was going to happen for me,” he said. “And I was OK with that. I was like, ‘Honestly I have my career, I have my home, I have my dog, I have my mom,’ and I’m like, ‘I’m just going to be single the rest of my life.’ And then I met Mete.”
While not all the details of their nuptials have been figured out yet, Fenoli does, of course, have their outfits planned out.
The pair are also considering tying the knot on a cruise that would take them to Kobal’s native Turkey where they can disembark and have a reception with his friends and family.
