Tizzy as ritzy NYC private club member claims she saw fights, a gun

It’s getting hard out there in New York City’s gritty, raw… private clubs?

A member of exclusive Brooklyn club Dumbo House — a part the Soho House network of elite and pricey member-only spots — claims the place has become a hotbed for violence and says she even saw a gun there.

“It’s insane,” Jodie Taylor said on TikTok, claiming that someone brought a firearm inside. “I have seen multiple fights breaking out.”

“It’s literally unsafe.”

Taylor claims that the place is opening its door to non-members.

“There are these Google forms that you can just put your name on and now you are automatically admitted entrance into this members-only club,” she claimed.

She has since removed the post, but it’s still on Twitter.

The company behind Dumbo House made its IPO in 2021, and Taylor speculated that its hosting big parties for these interloping non-members as some kind of “cash grab.”

A Soho House spokesperson tells us, “We are aware of the video circulating on social media and share our concerns over its content. The safety of all our Soho House members and their guests is always our number one priority, and our House rules restrict any illegal behavior inside our Houses.”

Meanwhile, a source tells us the club does have private parties where hosts can create their own guest lists, which may include non-members. But they say that haven’t heard about the alleged Google forms.

Membership to Dumbo House starts around $1,334 according to its web site. It goes as high as $2,500 for those who want access to more than one club location.

The club originated in London and the Dean Street location was the site of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first date. The clubs are a favorite of Madonna, Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and many more A-listers.

In New York they have the original Meatpacking location, Ludlow House on the Lower East Side, and the newly opened The Ned.
